Thank you for volunteering for JA! Prior to teaching your fist JA class we ask all new volunteers to complete trianing.

Mecklenburg In-classroom Program Training Instructions
Each volunteer must be trained in order to teach the JA program. Training takes approximately 30 minutes-1 hour in length and it can be done online or in person at the Junior Achievement office.
Please contact your JA representative to schedule your volunteer training.

Online Training:
Volunteers have the option of going through the entire training at once or by going through selected modules at different times. The computer keeps track of the modules not taken.
- Access the national Junior Achievement website at the online training link at the bottom of this page ("click here for online training").
- At the left side of any page click Volunteer Training from the Table of Contents.
- Near the top of the page click Volunteer Training Web Site to go to the training site.
- Click on New Users - register here. Area Office is (Arkansas (102503)).
- You may need to download Macromedia Flash Player and QuickTime 4 to view all the pages properly.
- Go to the top green menu, click on JA Volunteer Orientation Program.
- Click on Home.
- Adjust your volume to hear the narrated speaker.
- Go back to JA Volunteer Orientation Program.
- Click on Basic Requirements.
- Click on Modules Not Taken.
- Click on Volunteer/Teacher Connection.
- Click next and proceed through Volunteer Responsibilities, Teacher Responsibilities, Useful Tips and Forms, FAQ's, and Self Check.
- Go back to Basic Requirements, Modules Not Taken, and click on Classroom Management.
- Click next and proceed through Teaching Techniques, Tips and Tricks, FAQ's, and Self Check.
- Go back to Basic Requirements, Modules Not Taken, and click on Behavior Standards.
- Click next and proceed through Standards of Conduct, Agreement Form, and Self Check.
- Go back to Basic Requirements, Modules Not Taken, and click on Student Characteristics.
- Click on your program Section (Elementary, Middle, High).
- Click next to proceed. Take Self Test.
- Go back to JA Volunteer Orientation Program.
- Click on the appropriate grade program (Elementary, Middle, High).
- Click on Modules Not Taken.
- Click on your program.
- Click next and proceed through the Program Goals, Kit Description, Activity Review, and Self Check.
- Once you have completed all training modules, click on the Evaluation button, fill it out, and click on Submit.
