Junior Achievement's Elementary School
Program has six themes for kindergartners through
fifth-graders. They illustrate how people assume roles as
individuals, workers, and consumers in an expanding
environment.
Kindergarten
Ourselves
- develops personal economic concepts through storybook
characters presented by the volunteers in read-aloud stories and
hands-on activities.
First Grade
Our Families
- provides practical information about how family
members work together to obtain what they need and want.
Second Grade
Our Community
- helps students learn about businesses and the
many careers found in those businesses with a typical community.
Third Grade
Our City
- examines career opportunities and the interdependence
of businesses in a typical city.
Fourth Grade
Our Region
- provides practical information about natural, human,
and capital resources found in regions and used by businesses to
produce goods and services.
Fifth Grade
Our Nation
- analyzes concepts pertaining to business operations
and economics specifically within the United States.
