In addition to our core K-12 classroom programs, Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas also offers a unique learning experience for 4th-5th graders called JA BizTown™. JA BizTown™ encourages students to learn about the free enterprise system through active participation in a simulated town. Student experiences vary from working in a bank, a radio station, or a medical center, to managing personal finance such as writing checks and accounting. With a variety of hands-on activities, students realize the relationship between what they learn in school and their successful participation in a simulated economy. Check out news coverage on CMS’ elimination of JA funding. JA BizTown™ is not a field trip! What is Experiential Learning?
